Whatever fear we feel is very real and we need empathy and care, not hurtful comments or unsupportiveness.
A small thing to someone else could be a trigger for us to "Self Harm" with cutting, alcohol, prescriptions pills or any other kind of self harm. People need to be aware that we are trying very hard to stay afloat and that takes Courage. On a daily basis we try to get through the day. We are strong but sometimes because of other people we tend to isolate to protect ourselves from what other people could say to us that could cause hurt and emotional pain.
So please think before you speak to someone who has a Mental disorder of some kind and remember what ever you say to is is magnified a hundred times.
SO please be kind to us and consider our feelings. Youl never know what its like to live with mental illness unless you have "actually" lived with a mental illness, so Please Be kind to us, so we can be kind to ourselves. Big Hugs Claire
