Self Managing whilst living with long term health conditions through Self Help and Positive Activity in the community, including SAS Ten Pin Bowling at TRURO bowling alley every two weeks see the ten pin bowling community group page for more info.
Our Mission is to provide you with as much information and tools around Self Help for Mental Health and Well being as possible ~ Helping you to help yourself feel better, be part of the community and delay or prevent relapse, mentally or physically. As well as having a long term physical condition we could end up with a mental health diagnosis as well due to not coping very well. Up to now Mental Health has been somewhat taboo and stigmatized with people thinking that if you have a long term health condition and mental health "problems" then you are some how broken, this is not true! Some physical illnesses can cause mental health issues and vice versa. Mental or Physical illness can arrive into your life at any time, you may feel unwell for a short time or a long time, you may be diagnosed with a short term illness or a long term illness. You may even have to give up work for a while. What we try to do is promote healthy strategies rather than unhelpful ones so that you may feel better about yourself living each day as it comes. Chances are you will feel pretty awful at times but with Hope, Courage and perseverance you CAN Help Yourself ! Every Giant leap forward begins with tiny steps and I hope that this site will help you make the first tiny step towards helping yourself through Positive Self Help & Activity so you can begin to live a healthier and happier life. If your in Cornwall why not come to one of our peer support groups where all kinds of people with long term health conditions, carers and friends get together to have a fun afternoon out ? Use the contact us page to get in touch or follow us on facebook to find out when were next getting together. This site is for information only and our peer support group is based in Truro, Cornwall.
