Sunshine and Showers Positive Mental Health - About us

Sunshine and Showers Peer Support was set up by Time to Change Health Champion Claire Jones in response to the NHS cuts in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength offering a safe space for people with long term health conditions to get together, share information around recovery and re-build confidence in the community.
We all know that some mental and physical illness symptoms come and go depending on our level of stress and I feel that by doing all the things we can to stay positive can contribute towards preventing a Mental Health Crisis which could be life threatening to some.
Sunshine and Showers was set up in March 2011 with a monthly Ten Pin Bowling activity and now runs every two weeks out of Truro Ten Pin Bowling alley every other Thursday. (see Ten Pin Bowling Page for more info)
We now have 6 extremely helpful and knowledgeable volunteers who are vital to our continued success and who each in their own way have experience of mental illness or a long term health condition.
We welcome new members to attend our group and feel free to use the Contact us page or email admin@sunshineandshowers.co.uk.
"Proactive prevention through peer support is better than reactive crisis intervention" - Claire
